The 3D printing industry is waiting for the formnext in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, November 17-20, 2015. It’s high time to plan your visit. All you need to know you’ll find in this article – the hottest topics, the biggest exhibitors and even free 4-day-tickets (valued at 60 €). We will be there too, presenting our customizing software and receiving an award for winning the formnext Start-up Challenge.
Is the formnext Europe’s new must-see exhibition?
As 2015 draws to a close we are looking forward to the last major additive manufacturing event in Europe of the year, formnext. There has been a lot of buzz around the event, and if you ask the organizers formnext will be Europe’s new flagship tradeshow for design, prototyping and additive manufacturing. Taking a look at this year’s exhibitors certainly suggests this to be true. The global elite of industrial 3D printing including alphacam, Autodesk, 3D Systems, EOS, FIT, formlabs, HP, Renishaw, Ricoh, Sisma, SLM, and Stratasys will all be in attendance. Stratasys, for example, has promised the largest stand that they have ever had at an exhibition in Europe. And, the smaller less well known companies are not less interesting; for instance, don’t miss Botspot’s latest 3D scanning developments and DyeMansion’s innovative coloring processes.
Alongside the exhibition is a world-class conference with 30 international speakers, who will shed a light on cutting-edge technologies, new applications of additive manufacturing, and explain how they are influencing product development and production. The list of keynote speakers alone proves the conference is not to be missed, here a small sampling: Dr. Hans Langer (founder and CEO of EOS GmbH), David Reis (CEO of Stratasys) and Michael Breme (head of tool making at Audi, AG).
Potential highlights: metals, industry applications and outstanding innovations
We screened the exhibitor announcements for you and one of this year’s focus topics will be the potential of 3D-printed metal components. There was a time when you would find mostly basic plastics in the exhibition corridors, that time has gone. New players, like laser manufacturer Trumpf, have arrived on the scene and are making a name for themselves in the market for metal printing.
We are particularly exited to see the explosion of industry applications of additive manufacturing. For instance, Audi, will be presenting insights into product development in the automotive industry: a journey through the history of tool-making up to the latest trends in product development with the use of generative technologies. Another interesting example comes from writing implement manufacturer Lamy, who will be sharing their success story of applying additive technologies over the last five years. Both cases demonstrate that 3D printing is gaining more relevance across all industries. Innovative companies and decision-makers should prepare for changes and potential in the next few years – inspiration for this can be found in Frankfurt.
The official “Highlight” of course, as stated on the formnext website, is the Start-up Challenge, and this is where we come into play!
formnext Start-up Challenge
The competition was geared toward young and innovative companies from the field of additive technologies. Like dozens of other candidates we needed to impress the prestigious international jury with our innovativeness and the sustainability of our business ideas. We are proud to have been selected as one of the five winners and want to congratulate the other teams from 3dTrust, DyeMansion, Luuv Forward and Sinterit.
“We are looking forward to show our latest software developments and use-cases at our Stand C51 in hall 3.1.
Everyone is most welcome to drop by and discover the next level of product customization which is enabled with our software solutions.”Florian Reichle, CEO trinckle 3D
