New in the Additive App Suite: Drill Guides, Masking, and Break-off Labels
We’ve added three new apps to the Additive App Suite: Drill Guides, Masking, and Break-off Labels.
With these additions, the Additive App Suite now includes 12 apps in total, including Shadow Boards, Clamping Jaws, Robotic Fingers, Logistics Trays, and more.
The three new apps focus on practical manufacturing workflows that are often repetitive, manual, and difficult to scale efficiently with traditional CAD tools. The goal is simple: make these workflows faster, easier, and more accessible through design automation.
From lightweight drill guides and custom masking solutions to printable break-off labels for part identification, these additions continue pushing the Additive App Suite further toward real shop-floor applications.

Drill Guides: From workpiece to drill guide, faster
The Drill Guides app automates the creation of lightweight, custom, 3D print-ready drill guides for accurate and consistent hole placement on flat or curved surfaces.
Custom drill guides are widely used in industries like aviation, where accurate and repeatable hole placement is critical during assembly, maintenance, and repair workflows. Large aerospace components can contain hundreds of holes, making manual guide design slow and difficult to scale efficiently.
Automatic hole detection, CSV import, and support for industrial-standard pins and bushings help reduce manual setup work and make it easier to create production-ready guides faster.
Another step toward bringing practical design automation workflows closer to the shop floor.

Masking: Generate custom masks without the CAD bottleneck
Custom masking solutions are widely used across manufacturing processes like painting, shot peening, coating, blasting, and surface finishing, where specific areas of a part need to be protected while others remain exposed for treatment. This is especially important for sealing faces, threads, bearing seats, precision bores, and other critical surfaces.
The Masking app helps automate that workflow. Import treatment surfaces directly from a workpiece, generate custom mask bodies automatically, and use integrated locator pins and guides for accurate and repeatable positioning on the shop floor.

Break-off Labels: Add traceable labels to printed parts
Break-off labels are useful for identifying and organizing parts throughout manufacturing, assembly, inspection, and logistics workflows. Instead of applying separate stickers or manually marking components, labels can be generated directly as part of the 3D printed geometry and removed cleanly after use.
The Break-off Labels app helps automate that process by generating printable labels that attach directly to parts during production. This makes it easier to track components, add identification information, and keep parts organized throughout manufacturing workflows.

Get started with the Additive App Suite
Together, these new apps continue expanding the Additive App Suite toward practical, production-focused workflows. By combining design automation with additive manufacturing, manufacturers can create custom tools, guides, masks, and labeling solutions faster, with less manual CAD work and shorter lead times.
